First Sunday of the month = free state museums. Showed up at the Uffizi Gallery at 9 AM. Waited two hours . Said, “Worth it for Botticelli, but never again without a reservation.”

Avoided any place with mountain-high, brightly colored gelato. Stuck to places where the pistachio is beige , not neon green. Never disappointed. oles2143 experience italy

Showed up at the Colosseum before the ticket office opened (8:15 AM). Walked right into the Palatine Hill entrance first, then descended into the Colosseum at 9:30 AM when the group tours were still lining up outside. First Sunday of the month = free state museums

Arrived at 4:30 PM (one hour before closing). No line. The afternoon sun hit the mosaics like liquid fire. Oles noted: “Better than any VIP tour I skipped.” Said, “Worth it for Botticelli, but never again

Not Piazzale Michelangelo (too crowded), but the Giardino delle Rose just below it. Roses in bloom, zero tour groups, and the same Duomo view.
