There is something undeniably satisfying about running macOS on hardware Apple never sold. The "Hackintosh" community has been doing this for years, but usually on beefy desktop towers. Today, I want to talk about my experience turning the ultra-portable Dell XPS 13 9370 into a nearly perfect macOS machine.

The XPS runs hot. macOS pushes the CPU more aggressively than Windows. I had to undervolt the CPU using VoltageShift to keep it under 85°C during compile tasks. Three Months Later: Would I recommend it? Only if you like fixing things. There is something undeniably satisfying about running macOS

The 9370 has a gorgeous 4K display, Intel 8th-gen quad-core CPU, and a slim chassis. Apple’s equivalent (the MacBook Air/Pro of that era) was either underpowered or overheating. Plus, I missed the OS.
