Vitamin K3 contains not less than 98.0 percent and not more than 101.0 percent of C₁₁H₈O₂, calculated on the dried basis.

Acidity Suspend 1.0 g of Vitamin K3 in 20 mL of water, and boil. Cool, filter, and wash the residue with two 10-mL portions of water. Combine the filtrate and washings, and add phenolphthalein TS. Where labeled for use in parenteral or topical preparations, it meets the requirements for Bacterial Endotoxins (NMT 5.0 USP Endotoxin Units/mg) and Sterility where appropriate. Method I: Not more than 20 µg/g
