Need a Plastic Surgeon to change your tattoo? Looking for a "Freckle Bitch's" to buy a cybernetic eye? The map store reveals the exact location of every clothing shop, gun store, and vehicle garage in that district.
Unlike open-world games that reveal the map as you explore, Saints Row: The Third utilizes a classic "fog of war" system. Large portions of the city remain grayed out and unexplorable on your UI—until you visit a Map Store. Scattered throughout the districts of Steelport (specifically in the neighborhoods of Loren Square, Henry Steel Mills, and the New Colvin Industrial Area) are small, unassuming businesses marked on your minimap with a distinctive orange newspaper or kiosk icon .
In the chaotic, larger-than-life playground of Saints Row: The Third , knowledge is power. You can have an arsenal of dubstep guns, a VTOL jet, and a team of homies ready to throw down, but none of that matters if you don’t know where to go. That’s where the humble, often overlooked Map Store becomes the most valuable asset in Steelport.
Once you take over a territory, you unlock a Crib (safehouse). Map Stores show you the quickest routes to these Cribs, allowing you to unlock fast travel points much faster. A Word of Caution: The Ultimate Upgrade Before you spend your early-game cash on individual district maps, note that the game has a "cheat code" built into the progression system.
