That’s when Marco noticed the guest count.
The game answered. A new objective appeared in the top-left corner, written in the game's standard font but with a grammar that felt wrong: He was a terrible zookeeper
He took one step down the dark path.
Marco clicked download. He’d been stuck on the third scenario of Planet Zoo for six months. His lemurs kept escaping. His water pumps kept failing. His guests complained that the view of the warthogs was “just okay.” A single entry appeared: Marco realized, too late,
The first exhibit was beautiful. A sprawling underwater tunnel for giant river otters. They did wave. In unison. Every single one of them turned to face Marco and lifted a webbed paw. He waved back, nervously.
The otters stopped waving.
He should have closed the game. He should have deleted the REPACK. But the lion colosseum was so cool , and the otters waved so perfectly , and he had never—not once—gotten a gold-star rating on any zoo.
